Meet Our Founder

 Kathy Horne-Burgess was born in Marion, South Carolina. She spent most of her childhood between Sellers and Socastee, South Carolina. She is married to Mickey Burgess and together they have four beautiful daughters. Despite the adversities and challenges she faced in her life, she was determined  to achieve more; It was Kathy’s goal to go to school to become a Nurse Practitioner and that exactly what she did. 

 First, she earned her License Practical Nursing Degree in 2003 from Florence Darlington Technical College; Afterwards, Kathy continued and completed her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 2009 at Robeson Community Technical College. However, just before receiving this degree, unfortunately Kathy and her family spent multiple months frequenting hospitals with her daughter who was born with a heart defect that required several surgeries. This motivated her to go back to school to further her education. She then received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Francis Marion University. 

 It was then that she found comfort in realizing that there was no limit to God’s blessings and plans for her life. After seeing her daughter healed Kathy was motivated and determined to continue pursuing her aspirations in higher education. However, her ultimate goal was helping others and giving back to individuals who needed a healthcare provider. With much determination Kathy not only later obtained her Master’s degree in Nursing, but she also received her Doctoral Nursing degree from Walden University. Currently Kathy resides in Latta South Carolina and is active in her church and community. She strives to be an example and role model to help show others that they can excel despite their circumstances. A motto she lives by is “If God did it for me then He can surely do the same for you; regardless of the struggles you may face in life.”
